My name  is Peter Muthukumi and I'm a noted music tutor and singer/songwriter based in Nairobi Kenya with an extensive background in music and voice education. 

     
My music education background started in Meru Kenya.
Growing up I took private voice,piano,guitar lessons and music theory.
I studied at kamata music school, one of the most reputable music academies in Kenya.

I continued my education in  Nairobi at Kenyatta university in  Voice Technique, Song Performance, Music Theory and instruments playing.
I studied voice under the National renowned Dr Francis Tanui and Kamata Joseph, their  collective client base   reads like a who's who list:Daman maina, William k-moore, Beatrice Githire, David muchangi,Betty Bayo,Neo soul,Kenzo, Amani to name a few. It was a privilege and honor to be in such great music training company.

I work as a singer/songwriter/performer/voice over artist for a music production company in Nairobi, that's responsible for many top 10 hits,
where i worked with various musicians/songwriters and producers such as: Daman Maina,size 8,Amani,Brenda and Kenzo. I also met other Musicians that needed music training. The production company saw a unique talent in me, the ability to teach others the fundamentals of singing on a professional level and they incorporated that in my duties, teaching new and up and coming artists voice technique and song performance.

Within a short time my client base grew from a few to many, this was the birth of The  music academy of MERU.

I also prepared students for recording session, auditions, showcases for record labels, music therapy jobs and the hobbyist sharpening their karaoke skills etc.

I also teach East Africa singers from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.
